Its members are mainly technical librarians, drawn from government, professional bodies, local authorities, universities, and private practice.

 

It publishes a monthly newsletter, CIIG News, which is available to members and covers industry news, forthcoming meetings, job opportunities, and useful publications. Individual and corporate membership is available, with a reduced individual membership rate for students.
